When we are faced with infertility, we try at any cost to reach our goal. Often we don’t want to hear about what our true chances are with what we believe is our last strategy to achieve our goal.

I find that some people don’t want to hear about the possibility that IVF might not work. Whilst others, because of past IVF fails, struggle to believe it will work next time.

Whatever we believe in, will determine our actions, which might eventually lead to a self-fulfilling prophecy.

This is a well studied subject in psychology. A self-fulfilling prophecy is when a person unknowingly causes a prediction to come true, due to the simple fact that he or she expects it to come true. In other words, an expectation about a subject, such as a person or event, can affect our behaviour towards that subject, which causes the expectation to be realised.

That’s why it’s so important to be aware of your thoughts and only allow the thoughts that are aligned with what you want.

With fertility coaching, we help you identify your thoughts and work on thought modification to help you achieve your goal.
